Skin Care for the Old Age ? Beauty, Health and Fitness

How we wish the fountain of youth is real so that we could stay young forever. It would that simple to drink from the fountain and stop from aging. No matter how much we pray for the fountain of youth to be discovered, we must first face the fact that we are aging!
Getting old is unavoidable but is certainly not a thing to be scared of. Aging can create numerous effects on the body, both internally and externally. The most obvious sign of aging happens on the skin and this is what most people are afraid of. When a woman reaches 40, this is the time where she is most fearful because hormonal imbalances can occur. After menopause, hormones in the body decrease dramatically.
One of these hormones is estrogen which is responsible for some changes in the skin. As we get old, our sebaceous gland also slows down which makes the skin dry and become thin. The elastin fibers in the skin lose their structure and the dermis becomes less flexible making the skin wrinkled and sags. Signs of sun damage also appear on the skin as we get old. These can be in the form of pigmentation, age spots or a leathery, tough texture.
The drop in etsrogen levels causes a drop in collagen levels as well. Collagen is very important because it holds the skin together which supports other tissues and blood vessels. A decrease in collagen level makes the skin lose its elasticity and firmness. The skin then begins droop and wrinkle.
Skin care during your older years is not complicated. It will include anti-aging routine that is suitable for your skin?s needs.
Ensuring proper hydration is necessary especially when you?re getting older because skin dryness becomes very common when you get old. A well hydrated skin makes the cells function better. Moisturizing is the best way to battle dehydration. It can be done either internally or externally. Internal moisturizing can be done by drinking at least 1-3 litres of water per day and avoid eating food or drinking beverages that can cause water loss. External moisturizing can be done by using the best moisturiser. You can apply after shower in the morning and in the evening.
Older people need a different skin care than what they were used to when they were younger. Their skin has different needs. Restylane products are readily available and are safe to use by older people. Restylane has an innovative skin care range that can suit your skin?s needs whether you?re young or old.
Be sure to have regular skin checkups because skin cancers are much more common in older people. Be conscious and observant to your skin. Know what your skin looks like normally and be able to note any changes. Watch out for discolorations, pigmentations, lumps and scars. Consult your doctor immediately one you have noticeable changes in your skin.
