On October eleventh, 2008 there will be a Golf tournament fund raiser to benefit the senior class at the Woodbury Golf Course in Woodbury, Vermont starting at 9:30 am. All the proceeds of this tournament are going to the Hazen Union senior class for their senior trip. This according to the tournament registration form.
Many of the seniors are helping out with the fund raiser like George Coultas, 17, is a senior at Hazen Union. Coultas is playing nine holes at the fund raiser on the eleventh. According to Coultas, ?There are a lot of things we are doing for the fundraiser. We are cooking lunch, giving out prizes and also playing in the tournament.?
Although some seniors are playing in the tournament, Tim Bellavance, 19, sophmore at Vermont Technical College in Randolph, Vermont is also playing in the tournament. Bellavance said, ?I feel its a good idea for the senior class to do this type of fundraiser, because it should make them a lot of money.? Bellavance also mentioned that while he plays once a week, playing in a tournament does not put any pressure on him.
There are several different sponsors in the tournament, one of which is Melissa Hay, Co- Owner of Hays Service Station located in Hardwick, Vermont. Hay has been a sponsor in the past and chose the gold sponsor this year, ? Because it?s a good price, and we could sponsor a team and a hole at the same time.?Hay also said she likes to do help out with fund raisers, because it helps the school.
According to Coultas, ?The fritaly group has been doing the golf tournament for years and its been very successful.? This gave the senior class the idea of doing the fundraiser. Coultas also mentioned he hopes they can raise around 1000 dollars which will benefit the senior class trip.
