Moonlight Book Reviews: Scene Immortal by: Chris Patton (Review)

Title: Scene Immortal #1

Author: Chris Patton

Number of Pages: 203

Date of Release: February 3rd, 2011

Synopsis From Goodreads:

Scene Immortal is the story of Kyle Ryan, a popular/unpopular kid, a ?scene boi?, an affable rocker type, who on his eighteenth birthday is given the gift of blood-tinged immortality by his Indie Rock idol, lead singer of the quickly-rising Darkwave band Alphatwyn. His best friend, the oddly jovial Goth dude, Josh, and Josh?s twin sister Jackie ( who happens to be Kyle?s ex), go on a journey to find Kyle?s Vampire creator, in the hopes of pulling from him the secrets and vital answers questions he left his new ?child of the night? without.

Review: I had a few issues with this book. I liked the concept and the message that Patton was trying to get through to his readers. There is definitely an interesting story process there.

I really couldn?t relate to the characters. I really did try and it wasn?t the fact the main character was a male. I think it was the missing of characters and the ulterior motives they had.

The plot was very slow, but again I think this was to drive through the messages Patton wanted his readers to know. I think the story could have been sped up and that would have made it more enjoyable.
